The leaves
and stems of perennial vine native to West Indies and southern USA,
now culitvated throughout the World are used from this plant.
Usage
May be smoked, steeped as tea (2 heaped
tablespoons /1pt boiled water) or reduced to crude alkaloidal mix.
Effects
Smoked, very mild, short-lasting marijuana-like
high. Tea, tranquiliser and sedative. Harmala alkaloids are hallucinogens.
Smoked before ingesting magic mushrooms or LSD for heightened hallucinogenic
effect. Contraindications are that other materials in crude alkaloid
reduction may cause nausea. Harmala alkaloids are short-term MAO inhibitors
(be certain that you research MAO inhibition before dosing heavily
with this plant).
Remedial
Actions
Sedative, anodyne, hypnotic antispasmodic.
Calms the nervus system and promotes sleep.
Caution: Avoid high doses during pregnancy.
Key symptoms
of insomnia associated with over excitement, anxiety and worries.
